If your school believes in the cause, then wear your jeans proudly on Friday 6 August and help us sell badges on the streets and in shopping centres and train stations across Australia.

Jeans for Genes is turning 16. What a perfect opportunity to gather a group of school mates and sell badges on the streets across Australia.
Teams for Genes is a dynamic initiative whereby groups are allocated to a train station, shopping centre or public places on Jeans for Genes Day to sell badges and merchandise to the general public.
To get your school involved, simply follow the steps below:
- Seek permission from your Principal/SRC or teachers to have a school Team for Genes
- Allocate a team leader who will act as the main contact point between the school and the Jeans for Genes team
- Have you considered how long your school team will be available to volunteer ?
- Will all your school team volunteer together or will you be divided into groups some doing the morning session others the afternoon ?
- Consider the location you would like to sell badges. Public places with lots of pedestrian action are great spots to sell badges. They are also excellent venues to help us raise awareness of Jeans for Genes and Children's Medical Research Institute.
Once you have registered
-
The Volunteer Manager will arrange permits, merchandise and other material for the day.
-
Your school team leader will be added to the e-communications list to receive regular newsletters and e-alerts.
-
Before the actual day, the school team leader will receive detailed information. This ensures the experience is stress-free and easy.
-
All school team members will receive a free gift and certificate of appreciation after the event.
In 2009, Teams for Genes raised over $180,000 across Australia on Jeans for Genes Day. In 2010, Teams for Genes is aiming to raise $190,000 across Australia.
Remember, when you choose to be involved in Jeans for Genes, you are supporting the greatest fundraising campaign this country has ever seen.
