If your community believes in the cause gather some friends, family or neighbours, wear your jeans proudly on Friday 6 August and help us sell badges on the streets, in shopping centres, and in train stations across Australia.

Jeans for Genes Day is turning 16. What a perfect opportunity to gather a local community group and sell badges on the streets across Australia.
Teams for Genes is a dynamic initiative whereby groups are allocated to a train station, shopping centre or in a public place on Jeans for Genes day to sell badges and merchandise to the general public.
To get your community involved, simply follow the steps below:
- Speak to your friends, family, neighbours or local community about Jeans for Genes Day and forming a community team for genes
- Allocate a team leader who will act as the main contact point between the community group and the Jeans for Genes team
- Have you considered how long your team will be available to volunteer?
- Will all your team volunteer together or will you be divided into groups some doing the morning session others the afternoon?
- Consider the location you would like to sell badges. Public places with lots of pedestrian activity are great spots to sell badges. They are also excellent venues to help us raise awareness of Jeans for Genes and CMRI.
Once you have registered
-
Our Volunteer Manager will then arrange permits, merchandise and other material for the day.
-
Your team leader will be added to the e-communications list to receive regular newsletters and e-alerts.
-
Before the actual day, the team leader will receive detailed information. This ensures the experience is stress-free and easy.
-
All team members will receive a free gift and certificate of appreciation after the event.
In 2009, Teams for Genes raised over $180,000 across Australia on Jeans for Genes Day. If your local community is fair dinkum about Teams for Genes, then express your interest now.
